Travel and Accommodation
Conference Location
The conference will be held in the main auditorium of the Natcher Conference Center (Building 45) on the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Campus in Bethesda, Maryland. Participants can get to the Natcher Conference Center by taking the Bethesda Metro Red Line (from the Hyatt Regency Bethesda) to the Medical Center Metro Station (one stop). Exit the Medical Center Metro Station, and the Natcher Conference Center is a short walk across the NIH campus.
Important Travel Information
Critical information everyone should know about entering the NIH campus, parking on campus, entering buildings, and using campus transportation is available at: http://www.nih.gov/about/visitorsecurity.htm. Please survey this site for information necessary to access the NIH campus for our event.
When driving to NIH, plan extra time to get through the security checkpoints at the visitor entrances to campus. Be aware that visitor parking lots on the NIH campus can fill up quickly. Hence, the use of public transportation is strongly encouraged. The Washington, DC Metro-Rail system has a station right on the NIH campus, called "Medical Center", which can be accessed by using the Red Line train. More information on the Metro system can be obtained at http://www.wmata.com. This site also features a convenient trip planner which can be used to plan your travel in and around Bethesda.
